Students interested in taking summer semester classes may be eligible to receive federal 和 state 金融 援助, including grants 和 loans. Summer semester begins the 金融 援助 year at bet8九州登录入口. If you have been offered 金融 援助, check your 俄亥俄学生中心 to see if your 援助 is already being applied toward summer semester. If your 金融 援助 doesn't include summer, the first step is to register for summer classes. Once you are registered, you can email 金融.援助@俄亥俄州.edu to request your 援助 be applied over summer, fall, 和 spring semester, if applicable.

Here are some notes about receiving 金融 援助 in the summer:

• Institutional 奖学金 – bet8九州登录入口 scholarships, including those in the 俄亥俄州 Excellence 和 俄亥俄州 Signature Award Programs, cannot be received in the summer, 在大多数情况下. If you are graduating after summer or fall semester, you can email 金融.援助@俄亥俄州.edu to request consideration for an exception.
• Outside Agency 奖学金 – 奖学金 from other organizations that are $1000 or less are applied toward fall semester only. Those scholarships greater than $1000 are applied toward fall 和 spring, unless otherwise indicated by the agency. • 联邦佩尔助学金 和 Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) – These grant programs offer additional funds for summer semester enrollment. Students can receive the 联邦佩尔助学金 for up to twelve full-time semesters (or part-time equivalents). Students can receive OCOG for up to ten full-time semesters (or part-time equivalents). Receiving Pell Grant or OCOG funding for summer will cause you to reach the lifetime limit of those programs sooner than only receiving funds in fall 和 spring semesters.
• Federal Work-Study (FWS) – Students may be eligible to work all or part of the summer semester through FWS. To determine your eligibility, your FWS supervisor must email 金融.援助.employment@俄亥俄州.edu 和 request additional FWS funds for summer employment. Students who are enrolled for summer semester, may work up to 25 hours per week based on your eligibility for funding. Students may be considered for FWS employment during summer semester even if they aren’t enrolled in classes. Students who are eligible for FWS funds for summer 和 who aren’t enrolled, may work up to 28 hours per week. 
• Federal Direct 贷款 – Subsidized 和 unsubsidized student loans are awarded to students based on their academic level 和 their dependency status from the FAFSA.

These loan amounts can be divided over summer, fall, 和 spring semesters. No additional amount is awarded to students choosing to enroll in the summer semester. 联邦直接加 和 毕业生PLUS贷款 can include summer semester 和 can be increased to accommodate additional summer semester costs pending credit approval.

• 私人贷款 – Private loans can include summer semester 和 can be increased to accommodate additional summer semester costs pending credit approval.

We recommend that students regularly review 联邦佩尔助学金 和 Federal Direct Loan balances. You can view the amount of Pell 奖助金 you have received 和 how much eligibility you have remaining in that program. You should also review the amount of Federal Direct 贷款 you have borrowed. We suggest students only borrow the amount necessary to fund required educational expenses.
